To me bullying is a form of torture and should be sanctioned as such

Definitely. Bullying isn’t always physical. It’s the psychological stuff that’s trickier to combat. At least with physical bullying, one can make a case for it being an assault situation. When it’s psychological, it cuts even deeper and it’s harder to “prove”, so to speak.

It’s like verbal abuse. In France it is considered an offense but how do you prove it. It’s one word against the other, and in our case one of the two is mentally ill. Good luck to us…

Exactly. I wasn’t aware of how France treats it. I can see how it can end up being a “he said, she said” environment if there isn’t any audio or visual evidence.

Having been bullied on school so many times, I could not agree more with the comment above. It really is a form of torture, and the psychological abuse is much, much worse than any physical abuse 😢

I’m sorry to hear about your experiences being bullied. That happened to me at school and at some of my previous jobs before. People have made fun of me for the stuff I liked (music, anime, obscure movies), my introverted nature, and sometimes because of my skin color. It’s so true with it being torture. I’m getting better at dealing with people saying/doing stupid stuff to me. Others have tried to get under my nerves, but I’m past the point in just taking it.

I luckily don’t have troubles along those lines anymore at my current work place, thank God. All I have is the spectres of the past, that will probably never go away unfortunately😢

That’s good to know how you don’t have to deal with it anymore. I can relate to having those specters being psychological scars though.
