So much separation happened
My elder extended family members were forbidden for us to see them at their living facilities
Or for them to leave their current homes
Everything was at a phone call’s length
Or a computer screen away
The feeling of hugs vanished
While I made do with what I had and got to smile
I wondered…
Who knows if it will repeat next year?
I feel you. Sorry to hear what transpired between your family and grandparents; really ridiculous the circumstances we’re in. Here in Ontario they just locked down again and it’s getting pretty hard to go by living 😓

Thanks for understanding. I wasn’t talking about my grandparents since all of them passed away years ago, but thanks for your concerns. They’re alright, but we did miss them during Christmas. Normally, I would see my immediate and extended family together, but that couldn’t happen with these guidelines. Sorry to hear that about Ontario being locked down again. I’ve been hearing multiple countries re-locking down when the numbers got higher.

Sorry to hear about your grandparents. Thanks for clearing my confusion up as well as your concern. Typically the same would go for us as we would visit family and all, but instead we have to resolve with a Zoom call. No way does it replicate the in person stuff though.

Thank you. I’m glad I was able to clear that up. Yeah, I had to make some Zoom calls to family this year, so I can relate.

Wishing you and yours the best during this mess. Memphis just locked down again. . .
