Here’s an award that I’ve never been nominated for before. I was tagged with The Dazzling Blogger Award by Experience Film! Thank you very much! Experience Film has made great posts involving film reviews, filmmaking, and even features some of his video projects on there.
This award was created by Helen at Crispy Confessions where this particular award was created to recognize bloggers who excel in at least one major facet of blogging. This can be content, writing skills, social media marketing, or engagement.
My Answers to Experience Film’s Questions:
1) What inspired you to start your blog?
It all started with my spoken word project of the same name. I featured my recordings on there and poems, but I then expanded into talking about other subjects and even other blogs with my fiction as well as my reviews on film, anime, and documentaries.
2) Who is your hero / heroine in fiction (and why)?
Good question since I rarely read fiction as much as I used to. I guess Yugo Beppu from Yugo the Negotiator would be one of my favorite heroes in fiction with him being able to use his intelligence in amazing ways and has a crazy amount of willpower. It’s also interesting how he’s forced to not use violence to save the day and can still get the job done with rescuing others.
3) How would you describe your personality? List 5 adjectives. Or if you know your MBTI, Big 5, enneagram, astrology signs, etc. use those!
Innovative, Generous, Encouraging, Autodidactic, and Artsy…I’m doing my best to be positive here. Hahaha!
4) Have you ever made a decision that completely changed the course of your life? What was it?
I could name some positive decisions, but that would be too personal given some current things going on. I guess taking a DNA test to find out my ethnic background (more so on my mom’s side even though I was still surprised with the sample percentages on my dad’s side) had an impact on me because I wanted to learn the history of my heritage especially when I had no clue about which ethnic stock I came from on my maternal side. It allowed me to research the cultures and helped me to have some confidence.
5) What items are closest to you in the room right now?
Well, I’m in my little office space at my place. Besides my computer which I typed this post with, there’s an iPod, a couple of international movie DVDs (currently from Uruguay and Haiti), notebooks, batteries, and a portable camcorder for my film projects.
6) Name something you are good at. And something you wish you were good at, but definitely arenโt.
Saying anything good about myself is difficult. I’m good at geography and learning about world cultures. It’s ridiculous with things I wish I was good at. Maybe sports or cooking?
7) Who inspires you, in your life?
Another tough question since not a lot of people inspire me. Maybe some recent non-fiction authors I’ve been checking out when it comes to opening my eyes to the world a bit?
Questions for my nominees:
1: What makes your blog stand out in some way, shape or form?
2: Which bloggers have inspired your content?
3: You could hang out with three others somewhere. One is an artist (filmmaker/musician/visual art/etc), a fictional character, and an athlete. Who would they be, where, would you go, and what would activities would the 4 of you participate in?
4: What is one interest or hobby that you never thought you would get into?
5: Which creative individual do you think is massively underrated?
6: Where would your dream vacation be?
7: Who is the most famous person that you’ve met in real life?
My nominees:
Giftie Speaks
MIB’s Instant Headache
Matt Doyle Media
The Review Heap
Everything is Bad For You
Reasons to Anime
Blerdy Otome
Congratulations!!
I wish I was good at sports too.
Which sport do you wish you had a special talent in?

Thanks, Helen!
Glad you can relate. Good question. Maybe tennis, badminton, or being committed enough to do track and field? I was good at running and even ran a mile in under 6 minutes when I was in high school.

Ace, thanks for the nomination ๐
And Yugo! ๐
When I was young I played a lot of soccer (was okay) but wanted to be good at basketball (was not, lol).

You’re welcome, Ashley!
I thought you would appreciate the Yugo namedrop. Then again, I think it’s amazing how there are others who have seen that anime.
Nice! What position did you play in soccer? I played basketball with friends, but I was never part of any teams though.

Defender, and then goalkeeper for the last few years. (Mostly good times too – usually indoor, which I found faster than outdoor.)

Alright. That’s cool. I do agree about indoor soccer and I’ve noticed that when I was younger, too.

I got a bit of a surprise for my first season of outdoor – I saw a far less action as keeper ๐

Oh, wow. Funny how the team can change when the scenery changes, too.

No problem, Gift! That’s interesting with you calling my blog educational. It’s something I would’ve never expected to be said for this blog when I started out on there.

It’s because you share information in a succinct way and I always like learning new things so I enjoy that about your blog. I like your poems too, you’re a jack of many trades.

Thanks, Gift! I’m glad you think so about those things.

Dang I kind of miss this award posts, its a cool excuse to talk about people and force people to tag other people which was really hard when you were a smaller content creator who didn’t know as much people. Still cool seeing you answer these questions, and a lot of unique answers. Should learn much about Yugo

Yeah, it’s been a while since those happened, but I did get repeats from time to time. Glad you enjoyed this post. It’s been a while since you checked out my blogs. Yugo is a good series and I wish it was more known.
