Before we get to the subject at hand, we can all agree that the word “woke” has these specific meanings if you pardon me for getting a bit Mirriam-Webster on all of you…
1: The past tense version of the word “wake” (I woke up at 8 AM today).
2: It is a term to become more aware of important issues (Miriam became more woke when she learned about Black Wall Street). It can also be contextualized as “wokeness” whether in a literal sense of being conscious or when companies pretend to care AKA corporate-wokeness.
I’ve noticed since the Summer of 2020 that the term has been used in a derogatory and racially-charged way. Leave it to Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis to help lead the charge of turning that term into an anti-Black dog whistle much like previous examples such as “welfare queens”, “superpredators”, “lowering the property taxes”, and most famously “thug”. DeSantis has been on some bigoted jihad with trying to get anti-CRT laws in his state, so it’s not surprising that he would make a claim that he and others should “fight the woke” in schools, businesses, and other establishments and that Florida should be the state where “woke goes to die”. His words, not mine! Watch the video and tell me if I’m lying.
DeSantis, your klan hood is showing!
To paraphrase Phillip Scott: Mr. Governor, do you want Black people or any potential individual ally who wants to fight against racism to die? I’m just asking questions here. Oddly enough, Ron DeSantis is a 4th generation Italian-American and (not going to lie, it’s weird learning about this fact) Italians weren’t always considered to be white in this country until decades ago, so he really shouldn’t be talking. I learned that from the book Birth of a White Nation by Dr. Jacqueline Battalora who talks about the history of the classification of whiteness going back to pre-Independence America starting with the aftermath of Bacon’s Rebellion (check out that book whenever you can). So this guy and others who think like him want there to be oppression full stop and for Black people to be subjugated and killed with impunity? Yeah, but DeSantis is too cowardly to curb white supremacist terrorists and mass shooters running around in his home state, that’s for sure! It’s why you have to question media and really look at the context of what is being said. It’s a shame that I was told I was “overanalyzing” things if I suspected someone having negative connotations with what they say and do when I realized in hindsight that I apparently wasn’t allowed to question anyone while blindly listening to what people say.
Just watch the wording and what is really being said. It could lead to dangerous implications in the future with various laws.

Cinema-Sanctioned Dehumanization (Is This How You See Me?)
Is this how you see me?
Preconceived notions of assuming I’d talk “street” or “urban” instead of being as articulate as I can are so predictable. The dog whistle language couldn’t be more obvious. Chains and grills are so unbecoming. I do have a sense of humor, but it’s more advanced and less crass than how one would guess. Spare me the images you perceive of me. I’m beyond over being one’s comic relief at best or some useless associate at worst in their eyes.
Is this how you see me?
These reverse compliments of me being having skills are meaningless when you want to brand me with outdated ideals. Regardless of the tonality of my skin, I would look nothing of the sort even if I had a darker hue. Centuries of minstrel shows and shucking around are far beyond the pale. It’s sad enough when the stars and stripes incorporate the images, but when the Land of the Rising Sun adopts it, it becomes just as problematic. I’m sure millions would scream if a character had prominent buck teeth and canary coloration. Whatever positive traits set are all for naught. International waters have no alibi appropriating unfortunate implications.
Is this how you see me?
Do those images conjure up in one’s mind as one assumes I could be up to no good? The expectations of sounding savage (pardon my wording) need to be erased in so many brains. Could this be the same imagery invoked since 1994 when the cell populace exploded regardless if anyone did anything or not? I refuse to see myself as such. I’m closer to being prey anyway. Shame on those who believe equality equates to chaos or how I should be starved out or hurt with impunity. Isn’t it odd how more people are rampantly denial of these images, but will (reluctantly[?]) call out crows, orangutans or Siamese cats?
I didn’t deserve to be declared subhuman.
Those who had those declarations should change the channel.

They Dreamed of Devastation and Deceit (Circle of Lies)
They claimed that continent was so dark
Not only because of the melanin of their majority
They’ll protect the native creatures
Yet laughing at the deceased bodies and mistreatment
Arousing those who inflict the suffering on millions even before that cursed scramble
They project a utopia of either animals only or having those who look like them walk around or live there
Empire and golden states of minds dictate this false narrative
Assuming they’re not projecting and magnifying poverty, corruption, or war-torn areas
How ironic. Their people and certain others have been moving in
Cobalt, tin, oil, copper
Among numerous others are exploited
An unfair trade to make such an understatement of the decade.
They purposefully ignore smart apartments, luxury hotels, and even locales safer than (supposedly) more “civilized” nations.
Funny how they call themselves nations while others are called tribes
The artifice and constructs of foreign tongues beg to warp minds
A continent where genocides have been afflicted on them where their perpetrators walked off without being behind bars could only be ignored for so long
How tragic is it when all that’s being mailed back are whips, severed skulls from the natives, or maybe artwork when it’s not an empty and insincere apology
So many deluge themselves in the circle of lies to feel euphoric
As they don’t want those with melanin to exist (whether they admit it or not)
They want to see a continent full of strangers like them and only those who look like them
Whatever god they believe in or not, all of them should pray every day that those living there or scattered don’t think like them.
These history books have been silent about these matters. Who ever thought that autodidact endeavors would become useful for unlocking truth when some desire it regardless of the learner’s pigmentation?
While there are issues that can’t be ignored, there is also solace that cameras, books, or online channels don’t dare to show.
Lie to Me, Oh Great Storyteller!

Shannon Sharpe, you just became my hero today. (Or when a Black man calls someone a racist without using the word “racist”)
It’s been a while since posting some news pieces that I discovered, but man, was I happy when I found out this video from The Advise Show.
To give you all some context, football player Kareem Hunt was in hot water for allegedly assaulting a white woman, but news surfaced that she called him and other Black people the N-word, so now the mainstream media is backing off after seeing that he was the victim in this situation. Social media ripped the MSM a new one when they exposed this abusive female.
On TV, Shannon Sharpe and some reporters talk about the Kareem Hunt situation, and something glorious happened. He verbally owns the female reporter who said that Kareem Hunt should face a lifetime ban. Sharpe calls out this double standard by saying that should be applied to doctors, lawyers, police officers, etc. if they did the same thing. Man, her body language just screamed “I just lost this argument” when he checked her.
I could care less about sports media, but that clip was freaking awesome. More people need to call out these bigoted double standards especially when they would NEVER do or say the same things about people of other races. Seriously, is she going to call out Ben Roethlisberger for the stuff he did? How about Peyton Manning for that sexual harassment case? Hey, maybe we can add women like Ronda Rousey or Hope Solo since they legit assaulted people (family members for the latter). Oh wait…she’s too much of a bigot and a coward to do those things with those examples.
How is it that whenever Black men do something bad (real or alleged), people want them to be fired and banned, but when a other people do the exact same thing, they get treated with kid gloves? Seriously, screw people’s racist hypocrisy! If you are offended by this, then something’s wrong with you and not me on this situation.
Good on you, Shannon Sharpe. I may not pay attention to sports or most mainstream media-related things, but you did a great job by dropping that truth bomb.
