Miss me? I haven’t been blogging a lot, but I just found a story worth talking about.
A video has been making the rounds of an African immigrant to America (presumably from Egypt) talking about how she and others saw a video while in the immigration process about Black Americans being shown as evil and all criminals. She claims that this is all by Caucasians in the Department of Immigration while also claiming she didn’t know about slavery or Civil Rights until after she was already in America. While she’s not wrong about how it was “them folks” making this propaganda to her and others (why would the melanated people in America make propaganda about themselves?), but I did find it odd that she didn’t know about those atrocities. Unless she was from a remote region without the internet, computers, or smartphones, I can’t see how she wouldn’t know about this stuff in this day and age. I don’t expect her to know everything because even Americans aren’t taught about everything, but she should’ve at least done some basic Google searches to learn some of the basics at minimum. I’m also glad Phil brought up the point that Black America didn’t go and colonize her and others’ homelands, steal their resources, or violate their people en masse, so why are Black Americans the bad guys worldwide when we didn’t collectively do these things?
It’s some food for thought.

Whoopi Goldberg, you’re despicable for defending Carolyn Bryant!
If there was any news involving Carolyn Bryant, I wanted to cover it. I did hear about that Till movie coming out this year, but I didn’t want to make any mention of it until the movie was released. However, warning signs went off when I saw that Whoopi Goldberg was cast to play Emmett Till’s grandmother.
Once I heard about this story where Whoopi opened her mouth about this atrocity, I just HAD to talk about it. Trust me, Candace Owens and Kanye West haven’t been the only ones selling out in a hardcore fashion with that infamous Paris Fashion Show stunt, but this case is just as appalling.
Whoopi said that Carolyn Bryant doesn’t need to be in jail and should just admit to what she did.
ARE. YOU. FREAKING. SERIOUS?!?!?! This is low even for you! I’m not expecting her to be some major activist, but I know she knows better. I’m glad Phil used the example of the Jewish community not forgiving Nazis and how they are still getting locked up despite being centenarians even this year, so how on earth could Whoopi or any sane person defend what this murderer did. She was responsible for a lynching, got others to kill Emmett, admitted she was lying about being harassed or assaulted, and never spent a day in jail for her crimes. Now the mainstream media is going to use Whoopi’s comment as a rhetorical dodge and encourage people to forgive her. I’m not like her, so I’m definitely going to call her out. She doesn’t represent me, and she certainly doesn’t represent the Till family. I’m definitely not going to watch that Till movie, especially after this nonsense.
I’m not a fan of Whoopi Goldberg whether it’s her acting, stand-up, or her stuff on The View even though I don’t watch that show. She’s said and done stupid things, but this is the most offensive thing she’s done in her career so far. Keep in mind, this is the same person who defended the crows in the Dumbo movie and believed that they should’ve kept the “I Ain’t Seen No Elephant Fly” song let alone having the characters in the remake (even Tim Burton was smart enough NOT to include them). I’ve said this multiple times, but this bears repeating…the lead crow’s name is Jim! Speaking of Disney, this is also the same person who played a character while portraying Black stereotypes and using her “hood” voice. Yes, I’m obviously talking about Shenzi the hyena from The Lion King, but you knew I was going to make that potshot given the reputation I got here (I’m sure Carolyn Bryant thinks all Black people are like that character or the other hyenas). This is straight-up blasphemous what she did and I don’t see how any person could find what she said to be good.
Whoopi, you’re a godforsaken traitor for defending that white supremacist devil!
This Racist Indonesian at Northwestern University Spotted with Blackface to Mock the New Ariel
Sorry for saying that I wouldn’t be posting as much. I did surprisingly have some free time yesterday and I just had to post on this story when I found out about it.
It’s been a while since I ranted about Disney on this blog!
This Indonesia Law student at Northwestern University was caught doing a disgusting parody of those reaction videos of the upcoming Little Mermaid trailer featuring Halle Bailey. Yes, I did see the original trailer even though I have no plans to see this remake. I remember the racist backlash when they announced the casting a few years ago, but wow these white supremacists and their sellout allies have been absolutely livid. These same people who didn’t bat an eye about Scarlett Johanson playing Motoko Kusanagi in the American live-action remake of Ghost in the Shell are throwing a tizzy about the new Ariel. It wasn’t limited to the racists of the Caucasian persuasion, but this bigot from the Jakarta region just had to get his Al Joelson on TikTok and now he’s getting dragged on the net for his blatant racism. I hope the pressure is on for him to get expelled and deported back to his homeland. I get Disney has been getting a ton of buzz once the trailer dropped and there were all these reaction videos of Black girls seeing an Ariel who looked like them. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against them for wanting to see themselves in a positive way, remake or not, but this remake isn’t going to make the House of Mouse a bastion of anti-racist allyship. Can we at least agree that much, everybody? Remember that this is the same company that tried to make that Princess of North Sudan Movie not even a decade ago, tried to trademark “Dia de los Muertos” with Coco, and (if you’ve known me for a while, you see where this is going) never owned up to the racist stuff they did with The Lion King with the portrayal of the hyenas and still haven’t dropped the “Hakuna Matata” trademark to this day. I’m also glad Phillip brought up the whitewashing and blackface with real-life people or fictional characters who weren’t white, to begin with. I’m also sick of people who tell me not to call out stuff with fiction when these same people freak out about stuff like this. I could namedrop certain bloggers who attacked me or think that way, but I’m not that petty. It’s 2022 and people are still being complete morons and showing their klan hoods because of a new depiction of someone from the Disney Princess Breakfast Club.
To that guy who pulled off that blackface nonsense, you won’t get to kiss the girl with your bigotry. I had to shoehorn a Little Mermaid reference in somewhere.
This Rant Had To Happen From This TikTok Creator About People Questioning Her Parentage
I hard relate to this rant since this woman and I have a few things in common. Both of us have a lighter complexion and are descendants of interracial couples where we have Caucasian dads and African-American moms. What really grinds my gears is when I see people questioning people like us when it comes to talking about racism or specifically Black issues. Give this woman a freaking medal for calling that nonsense out. Not every person from a mixed family acts like a sellout or is (god forbid) a “tragic mulatto”. That is one term I will not tolerate being addressed as such. She was on point by talking about how she deals with racism even with the so-called “light skin privilege” and how even Black people with two Black parents question her experiences. Don’t get it twisted, I don’t lie about the fact that I have a white parent, but I sure as heck have NEVER been treated like I was white and it’s not just because I have a noticeable amount of melanin despite having a lighter skin tone. That didn’t stop me from getting called the N-word, getting profiled at some stores, people low-key and overtly discriminating against me, and so on. Also, not everyone from a mixed family has lighter skin such as Jordan Peele, for example. One’s parentage isn’t their fault! I’m also glad that Phil called out those people as well and also mentioned how some people who would be considered biracial have been harder on white supremacy and racism compared to some people with two Black parents (the footage of Candace Owens during that part of the video to prove his point was too hilarious even if she’s an easy punchline). You can even throw Larry Elder, Herschel Walker, and Whoopi Goldberg (yeah, I said it!) to that portfolio, but that’s a story for another day. Don’t these trolls know that this categorization and name-calling about “not being Black [enough]” only adds to the division and discord even when those who could be considered biracial/multiracial are genuine in fighting against bigotry?
I’m just sick of this litmus test imposed on people like me and it needs to stop. Just because you have some people from mixed-race families who act like sellouts doesn’t mean everyone else is. So what? Are you going to bash Colin Kaepernick or even the late Frederick Douglass because they have white parents? Those haters deserve to be ignored. This woman should keep on speaking the truth. Seriously, I’ve been frustrated like her whenever I was bashed just because of my parentage when I’m not even being confrontational or rude. It disgusts me whenever I get excoriated just because I have a white dad, but actual racist jerks don’t get that kind of energy from those same people.
When the Word “Woke” Becomes a Dog Whistle. Exhibit A: Ron DeSantis
Before we get to the subject at hand, we can all agree that the word “woke” has these specific meanings if you pardon me for getting a bit Mirriam-Webster on all of you…
1: The past tense version of the word “wake” (I woke up at 8 AM today).
2: It is a term to become more aware of important issues (Miriam became more woke when she learned about Black Wall Street). It can also be contextualized as “wokeness” whether in a literal sense of being conscious or when companies pretend to care AKA corporate-wokeness.
I’ve noticed since the Summer of 2020 that the term has been used in a derogatory and racially-charged way. Leave it to Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis to help lead the charge of turning that term into an anti-Black dog whistle much like previous examples such as “welfare queens”, “superpredators”, “lowering the property taxes”, and most famously “thug”. DeSantis has been on some bigoted jihad with trying to get anti-CRT laws in his state, so it’s not surprising that he would make a claim that he and others should “fight the woke” in schools, businesses, and other establishments and that Florida should be the state where “woke goes to die”. His words, not mine! Watch the video and tell me if I’m lying.
DeSantis, your klan hood is showing!
To paraphrase Phillip Scott: Mr. Governor, do you want Black people or any potential individual ally who wants to fight against racism to die? I’m just asking questions here. Oddly enough, Ron DeSantis is a 4th generation Italian-American and (not going to lie, it’s weird learning about this fact) Italians weren’t always considered to be white in this country until decades ago, so he really shouldn’t be talking. I learned that from the book Birth of a White Nation by Dr. Jacqueline Battalora who talks about the history of the classification of whiteness going back to pre-Independence America starting with the aftermath of Bacon’s Rebellion (check out that book whenever you can). So this guy and others who think like him want there to be oppression full stop and for Black people to be subjugated and killed with impunity? Yeah, but DeSantis is too cowardly to curb white supremacist terrorists and mass shooters running around in his home state, that’s for sure! It’s why you have to question media and really look at the context of what is being said. It’s a shame that I was told I was “overanalyzing” things if I suspected someone having negative connotations with what they say and do when I realized in hindsight that I apparently wasn’t allowed to question anyone while blindly listening to what people say.
Just watch the wording and what is really being said. It could lead to dangerous implications in the future with various laws.
WOW! This Makes WAY Too Much Sense Why We Don’t Have Free Health Care In America!
Regardless of what side of the political aisle you’re on in America, can we at least agree that health care should be easier to access especially when you truly need it? It’s also weird how so many other countries including those that people would consider “developing” have free health care, cheaper doctor visits/surgeries, or at the very least is seen as a human right. When I was in Ecuador a few years ago, the tour guide was talking about basic facts about the country while driving around in Quito (the capital city, for those scoring at home) about the cost of living and health care. Since Ecuador uses the US dollar as its main currency everything made so much sense with the various rates. It was cheaper to get a house in a good area there than in most parts of America, and health care was seen as a basic right in their laws. The tour guide was shocked that in this alleged first-world nation we didn’t have that kind of access to medical care unless you had insurance as a benefit from a full-time job or something you had to pay every month for premiums and whatnot.
This brings me to the point of the video by The Black Congregation. There was a white woman on TikTok who mentions having a conversation with someone from Germany and the German was confused about why Americans wouldn’t vote for free national health care. She mentions that there are white people (mainly of the right-wing variety) who don’t want to see Black people get the same medical care and they would rather die slow painful deaths than let Black people get that kind of thing. There was talk about “freeloaders” getting free stuff which is beyond insulting to me not just because I’m not an immigrant (no offense to those who are immigrants in this country, obviously), but because I’ve worked multiple simultaneous jobs most of my adult life so far and my mom’s side of the family was taken against their will to be enslaved in America centuries ago. So I guess it’s “socialism” for the majority only and “picking one’s self up by their bootstraps” for those with melanin in their minds? That’s not even getting into the classism stuff there! It’s another aspect of medical racism and it’s just plain fallacious. Besides, you have doctors in European countries where free health care is available who are paid less than their American counterparts but can still afford nice cars and houses with their salaries. This was a very eye-opening video and this could grab attention of everyone. Like Phillip said in the video, I wouldn’t mind paying a little bit more for taxes if it is going for something useful like free health care or other essential services to help anyone who lives here. Again, I’m sadly not surprised how you have people who think about that in this nation.
Situational Ethics On Full Display!
These same people who were cheerleading the FBI not too long ago are now suddenly wanting that organization to be defunded just because Trump’s Mar-A-Lago abode got raided. I’m not surprised. These are also the same bigots who were screaming “back the blue” whenever there is a police brutality case (the George Floyd protests being a big example) before shouting “f*** the blue!” during the January 6th insurrection last year. They complain that the FBI is getting “too political” just because a former president is involved. Then again, Fred Hampton and Martin Luther King Jr. never threatened to kill anyone, but they were targeted and eventually assassinated when you have white supremacists who aren’t treated like that. Oh, but when it’s THEIR team facing searches and raids now it’s suddenly a problem. Those entitled bigots really have some nerve here. Yes, I’d be saying the same thing if Trump was a Democrat, so don’t play that partisan crap with me since I’m not affiliated with any political party. These terms about “Gestapo tactics” is a massive overstatement because white people are not treated like that in America even if they do something heinous. Phillip Scott is on point with his examples and commentary. I’m also not surprised when he brought up the statistics of Black children assumed to be doing something bad despite none of the kids regardless of their race doing anything disrespectful in the study groups. It’s sad, but not surprising. Phillip Scott was also correct in talking about not being able to say all the things he wants to not get a knock on his door and I agree. I’ve said controversial things and even then I have to word things a certain way even when I’m being harsh on someone or something. Think about it, you have all these mass shooters saying all kind of violent rhetoric before they go on a rampage, yet it’s never prevented. I would never spout those kinds of talking points or even act on doing something that evil and even I feel like I have to watch what I say or write about even if I’m talking about movies or music for example. It’s pure hypocrisy and I wish it wasn’t the case. Not going to lie, I’m curious to see what would happen if those charges stick.
People just don’t care about others unless something happens to them. I could quote a certain blogger on WordPress to accentuate my point about certain people not caring who was defensive at me on their blog despite the fact I wasn’t attacking them, but that would be incongruous for this situation. If that’s not a statement about how selfish and prejudicial people are, then I don’t know what is.
Christopher Belter only gets probation for multiple counts of sexual assault. SHAME!
Christopher Belter sexually assaults four underage girls and his punishment is 8 years of PROBATION?! Are you freaking serious? This case is another example of how there are massive double standards with the American (In)justice system. I felt so sickened by hearing this story, but I’m not even surprised anymore. The complexion for the protection (and a bit of money as well) certainly got Belter off of getting a one-way trip to the pen. Shoot, even one of the victims (who is white) said that he wouldn’t have gotten away with it if he was Black or brown. This is the Affluenza teen all over again, but with statutory rape instead of underage drinking, DWIs, and killing people in a car crash.
Also, where the Tartaros is #MeToo? You’ve got all that energy for R. Kelly, but aren’t calling out this guy? Oh, wait. These same people were also quiet about Rob Lowe, Roman Polanski, or the Dow family so I know what makes these same people scream about injustice or not. Your silence speaks volumes, you activists of convenience. You have people locked up for far less and that’s assuming if they haven’t been falsely accused of something. I do feel sorry for the victims and I hate how people like him get away with some of the most wicked crap imaginable. It’s no wonder you have idiots who like this system because they feel that they can get carte blanche for everything! People shouldn’t be telling me that we have a fair and just system. Spare me. I hope others see this and realize how messed up the (in)justice system is. Unbelievable…
A dying white woman admitted to getting a Black boy lynched because of a lie during her childhood
This is an infuriating story, but I’m not surprised nor is this situation the only case.
A nurse was taking care of an elderly COVID patient who confessed that she lied about a Black boy attacking her in the 1930s and had him lynched, castrated, and watched his house burned down. She mentioned this story on TikTok and it managed to get some attention. I was beyond sickened how she literally got away with murder. Sure, people may know about Emmett Till and how that she-devil admitted to lying about him, but there are plenty more stories that aren’t even reported even now.
And people tell me that this doesn’t happen in America and want to deny this bloody history.
This is pure depravity and I hope she experiences as much spiritual torture forevermore. As Phillip said, Black people would NEVER gang up on a Caucasian person, lynch them, and castrate them (they certainly wouldn’t get away with it if it did happen and that is straight FACTS!). The fact that this harpy wanted it to happen because the boy’s sisters had nicer dresses than she did? Unbelievable! It sickens me how these racists get away with everything. Not only that but there are still to this day no anti-lynching laws which I didn’t even know that until at least a year ago. What should that tell you about this country? I’m beyond furious how evil people like her got to live their lives while people who have done far less than what she did get murdered with impunity. Hell, lynching used to be a public spectacle where they would stop school and work just to kill a Black person in America! I’m holding back from using some profanity-laden rant about her. These are some diabolical double standards and no one can tell me ANYTHING about stereotypes associated with my heritage let alone associated with my maternal side of my family.
